FedEx has secured some of the customer identification records that were exposed on an unsecure server earlier this month. There has been no evidence so far that indicates the private data has been misused.
The server stored scanned documents from U.S. and international citizens such as passports, driver licenses and security identification. The data was stored on an Amazon S3 storage server. It calculated international shipping services and provided other information. FedEx has since discontinued the service.
The exposure has been less harmful than the cyber-attack FedEx faced last year which slashed $300 million of its quarterly profits.
