Avnet Appoints Bob Bowen to Lead Global Trade Compliance

Bowen will ensure that customers and suppliers remain compliant with evolving regulations around the world

PhoenixFeb. 29, 2016Avnet, Inc., a global technology distributor, announced that Bob Bowen joined the company as vice president of global trade compliance. In this role, Bowen will oversee Avnet’s global trade compliance program, which ensures that customers and suppliers remain compliant with the evolving laws and regulations in countries around the world. Bowen reports to Mike Buseman, the chief global logistics and operations officer.

Bowen brings 23 years of legal, regulatory and trade compliance experience in dynamic business environments to Avnet. His depth of knowledge extends from multi-billion dollar public companies to private practice to roles with the U.S. Department of Commerce. Bowen most recently served as associate general counsel, government and regulatory affairs at Western Digital Corporation. In that role, he oversaw and directed the international trade law compliance program, and worked within many jurisdictions where Avnet does business, including China, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong and the European Union.
