Jericho, N.Y.—Sept. 29, 2011—Purolator International is partnering with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), a component of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, as a Certified Partner in its Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program.
C-TPAT, a voluntary U.S. government-business initiative, and the country’s first worldwide supply chain security program, was implemented to build cooperative relationships that strengthen and improve the international supply chain and U.S. border security. Through C-TPAT, U.S. Customs and Border Protection is working with logistics and international supply chain businesses to provide the highest level of cargo security for the United States.
As a Certified Partner, Purolator International will continue to ensure that appropriate international supply chain security measures are consistent with C-TPAT guidelines. Purolator will also work closely with its own business partners to develop new security processes consistent with C-TPAT guidelines. With the partnership, Purolator International will receive C-TPAT benefits including reduced cargo exams, professional training and more.
