Atlas Commerce Partners with Microsoft

The partnership provides an Internet Marketplace Infrastructure for B2B and eCollaboration.

Atlas Commerce announced on Wednesday intentions to partner with Microsoft Corp. Under terms of the relationship, Atlas and Microsoft will jointly develop and market a comprehensive eBusiness solution based upon Atlas' Metaprise Software and the Microsoft Windows 2000-based Enterprise Solutions Platform.

Atlas Commerce provides B2B eCommerce infrastructures for managing relationships, interactions, processes and transactions for marketplace participants. The Malvern, PA-based company strives to broaden traditional business models with its Metaprise Software, which assist clients in building their e-business model ranging from sourcing and contract management, to order management, logistics and settlement.

Partners are a key element of Microsoft's eBusiness strategy. The combined Microsoft -- Atlas offering gives Global 2000 organizations and industry consortia a unique solution for managing inter-enterprise relationships via the Internet. Atlas Metaprise Software enables global organizations to create interdependent business relationships capable of spanning distributed and multi-tiered supply chains.

Through the relationship, Atlas and Microsoft will collaborate to enhance Atlas Metaprise Software to support Windows DNA 2000 platform, which is based on Windows 2000. These opportunities will allow customers of both organizations to build high-value Internet markets. These markets allow members to interact with multiple trading partners, to function seamlessly as both a buyer and seller, to complete all of the steps in a typical business transaction, and to manage complex business processes entirely via the Internet.
