South African-based Sasol generated its first electronic purchase orders last week. The transactions were completed through Commerce One South Africas MarketSite portal.
Johan du Preez, Project Manager of e-procurement for the company said, It is a significant milestone in the project to transact through this new technology. We are glad to report that our planning is on track to meet our objective of having a significant percentage of our purchasing online at year-end."
Sasol manufactures over 120 liquid fuels and chemicals in its Sasolburg and Secunda plants. Its coal and crude oil-based products are exported to more than 70 countries around the world.
