Alliance will provide multi-tier supply chain solution

FreeMarkets and Atlas Commerce are teaming up to deliver a web-based, multi-tier supply chain, decision support and eMarketplace solutions to Global 1000 organizations with high-velocity movement of direct materials purchases.

FreeMarkets B2B eMarketplace and Atlas Metaprise Software will be jointly sold and marketed. This software enables global organizations such as Hewlett-Packard to work more efficiently with their distributed networks of suppliers and buyers. Atlas Metaprise Software will allow FreeMarkets to coordinate demand planning, order and transaction management of direct materials across all levels in the supply chain. FreeMarkets' customers can aggregate these direct materials purchases from multiple suppliers using the Software and source them through the FreeMarkets B2B eMarketplace not only enhancing supply chain efficiency.
