DULLES, Va., Sep 15, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Vastera, a solutions provider for global trade management, and Speedchain, a supply chain solutions and information management company with operations in the United States and Europe, have teamed in an effort to offer medium size businesses access to global trade management applications and services via a hosted environment. Under the agreement Speedchain will integrate Vastera's Web-based software applications, management consulting and managed services into its Value-Added Application Services Platform (VASP) offering.
"By combining leading software applications with our supply chain expertise, and packaging it all into a hosted environment, our solutions are designed to provide mid-tier companies with an easier, more affordable means to run their supply chain operations, " said Jonathan Himoff CEO of Speedchain.
Vastera's software and services help simplify the process of moving goods across international borders by automating global trade business processes, centralizing the country-specific trade regulations that govern global trade, and increasing the collaboration between the members of the global trade value chain. Vastera's solution set includes an extensive electronic library of country-specific trade regulations, comprehensive software applications, management consulting, and managed services.
Speedchain intends to integrate Vastera's solutions into its own Comply! product in a phased approach, beginning with Restricted Party Screening and Landed Cost Calculation, expected to be available in the 4th quarter of this year.
