ROCKVILLE, Md., September 27, 2000 -- PRNewswire via COMTEX Many companies are trying to leverage e-business for a more efficient operation. Businesses see the potential and are scurrying to implement applications that will improve cash flow in their favor.
One company, Fuji Film, has realized savings after just two short months from the re-emerging Manugistics' NetWORKS.
Citing perceivable shorter customer order response times and a reduction in manufacturing lead times, Fuji is increasing speed-to-market.
"Manugistics' solutions have provided us with the flexibility to respond efficiently to dramatic shifts in customer tastes and retailer demands," said Reno DiGenova, supply chain manager at Fuji Photo Film U.S.A, Inc. "After meeting the budget and timeline projections for this initial rollout, Manugistics has proven that our confidence in their people and technology was well placed." The successful implementation has prompted Fujifilm to schedule a rollout of Manugistics' solutions to additional U.S.-based business units. A scheduled implementation across select global operations is already in progress.
"To remain a leading provider of imaging and information products, Fujifilm requires best-of-breed solutions that can help enable the company to stay responsive to the increasing requirements of large retailers," said Rich Bergmann, Manugistics' executive vice president of global sales and services. "With innovative technologies designed for quick implementation, combined with our deep industry expertise, Manugistics can help companies make improved customer service a key differentiator, which can lead to top line growth."
Manugistics NetWORKS have helped Fujifilm achieve a seven percent increase in order forecasting accuracy at five of its U.S.-based distribution facilities in just 2 months.
In addition, Fujifilm anticipates inventory reductions of 15 percent over the next 12 months in its amateur film and one-time-use camera business units.
