IBM and Manhattan Associates target midmarket supply chain

SOMERS, NY and ATLANTA, GA  PRNewswire  December 19, 2000  As a part of their PartnerWorlds for Developers initiative, IBM has joined forces with Manhattan Associates in order to offer supply chain solutions to midmarket manufacturers, suppliers and distributors.

The PartnerWorld for Developers program is aimed at allying IBM with software application suppliers in order to target specific industries. The program's goal is to provide software suppliers with access to IBM's marketing, sales and solutions resources and, in return, committing the software developers to lead with IBM's middleware, server platforms and service.

Through IBM's Manhattan alliance, supply chain execution and collaborative commerce solutions will focus on customers in consumer goods manufacturing, apparel and footwear, Internet fulfillment, hard goods and durables distribution, automotive after-market, media and third party logistics markets. In addition, Manhattan will lead with IBM's eServers, middleware products such as MQSeries, WebSphere, DB2 Universal Database, and Global Financing.

So far, IBM's PartnerWorld for Developers program has signed agreements with companies such as Siebal Systems, Vignette, PeopleSoft and SynQuest.
