Westford, Mass.-February 20, 2001- Openpages, Inc., an enterprise content production company, recently announced the stock acquisition of Viveca, a B2B content management and online catalog service. With this acquisition, Openpages moves squarely into the B2B market. Openpages will extend its management team by adding Viveca co-founder and Chief Technology Officer Santanu Paul.
"The challenges inherent to B2B marketplaces and e-commerce environments often lead directly to the inability to dynamically aggregate, consolidate, syndicate and manage partner and supplier information. Dynamic content software providers are in a prime position to tackle these challenges by managing supplier and partner assets through extended enterprise content management systems," said Leonor Ciarlone, senior consultant with CAP Ventures, Inc.'s DSS (Dynamic Content Software Strategies) division. "The acquisition of Viveca by Openpages clearly moves them into the realm of content management providers that recognize the need to provide scaleable and extensible solutions for B2B environments."
"Openpages' acquisition of Viveca adds to the momentum the company has developed through recent enterprise sales wins and our $40 million round of funding," said Michael J. Duffy, chief operating officer and president of Openpages. "Our combined product offering will empower businesses to truly manage content assets throughout the enterprise as well as with suppliers and partners in a value chain."
