Annapolis, MD April 10, 2001 International Design and Construction Online, an e-business site for the architectural, engineering and construction (AEC) industry, has launched a request for proposal (RFP) and bidding engine tailored for the commercial design and construction industries.
e-IDC.com says that it developed its RFP/Bid Engine to help AEC professionals manage their business processes more efficiently and cost-effectively. The new tool joins e-IDC.com's other online offerings, including Professional Directories, Company and Project Profiles, Project Rooms and Catalogs.
This engine allows AEC professionals to interact online by exchanging drawings, specifications, requests for information (RFIs) and bids/quotes. "As a 'total solution' company, we know we have just begun fulfilling our business goal by continuing to provide Web-based tools to improve mission-critical operations," said Michael Reibsamen, COO of e-IDC.com. "These tools add powerful and significant value to our members."
As an e-IDC.com registered member, individuals can search by keyword, project type, sector and geographical location. Users can also view RFP/Bid projects registered within the e-IDC.com site. The e-IDC.com RFP/Bid engine compensates for those industry members who may not be online by sending fax alerts and invitations when e-mail addresses are unavailable.
Enterprise members are able to extend both private and public invitations to subcontractors and suppliers. Those who request proposals have the ability to manage all of their bids from one centralized member services area within the site. The entire process is secure and personalized for those who use it, the company says.
