Lisbon, Portugal and New Orleans April 23, 2001 At the SAPPHIRE and eLink conferences, SAPMarkets and Commerce One today announced the launch of MarketSet 2.0 and Enterprise Buyer 2.0, joint solutions for private, regional and industrial marketplaces.
The first e-marketplace application, MarketSet 2.0, operates on the sell side and is built on Commerce One's e-marketplace MarketSite. It is designed to enable collaboration and commerce across the business units, partners and customers of the extended enterprise. It features collaborative design and engineering, procurement, planning; and order management and analytics. Industrial and enterprise marketplaces, such as eAECglobal in the construction industry have already chosen the application.
On the buy side, Enterprise Buyer 2.0 links to the entire supply chain for contract purchases, configurable goods and catalog-based purchasing. It is expected to help companies connect not only to e-marketplaces, but also to the global trading Web. It features real-time supplier communication, workflows, procurement support, integration with collaborative planning and engineering, and browser and wireless access.
"The joint development efforts between Commerce One and SAPMarkets have delivered on our joint vision, putting the corporate and industry supply chain onto the Internet," said Hasso Plattner, CEO of SAPMarkets. Commerce One's Chairman and CEO, Mark Hoffman, added, "We believe that our MarketSite operating environment, coupled with the e-marketplace applications of SAPMarkets, delivers the capabilities corporations need to realize the financial and competitive advantage of the Internet."
