Pleasanton, CA July 18, 2001 Under a deal announced today, e-marketplace platform provider Commerce One will work with UCCnet, a tax-exempt, neutral trading community that provides data synchronization based on industry-developed standards, to assist trading partners in connecting and participating in the UCCnet trading community.
Commerce One has entered the UCCnet's Partners In Sync Alliance Program and will begin working with the community's trading partners after completing UCCnet certification as a preferred alliance partner.
UCCnet is a subsidiary of the Uniform Code Council, the global standards organization. Partners In Sync enables alliance partners to provide integrated e-commerce solutions to the UCCnet trading community. The program certifies partners to develop compliant business applications and services that enable trading partners to connect new and existing catalog systems to UCCnet quickly and easily.
As a UCCnet partner, Commerce One plans to offer new services that allow suppliers to choose from a basic, manual connection to UCCnet or a fully automated connection, in which online catalogs are regularly updated and synchronized between the suppliers' content management systems and UCCnet. Both service offerings are available immediately.
Commerce One Global Services will provide consulting services to assist UCCnet subscribers in evaluating the best approach for integrating unique business processes and back-office systems with UCCnet. The services will include customization and testing of UCCnet message transport, installation and testing of VPN or SSL back-end connectivity and development of interfaces and bridge solutions to legacy databases and applications.
UCCnet says its services enable trading partners to reduce administrative errors while cutting the time required for new product introductions and changes to item information. Trading partners can access synchronized product authorization files to ensure the right information for the right products is always available to the trading community in a secure environment.
