(HVE) has adopted SupplyWorks MAX for direct materials management, beginning with an implementation at HVE's Robicon subsidiary in Pittsburgh, Pa. HVE designs and manufactures technology-based products in three segments power conversion technology and automation, advanced surface analysis instruments and services, and monitoring instrumentation and control systems for heavy machinery and vehicles.

SupplyWorks specializes in improving the performance of its customers' supply chains through lower costs, greater flexibility, faster cycle times and increased competitive advantage.

"We looked at all the players in the SRM space, but SupplyWorks understood our business needs and demonstrated that their solution mapped to our specific focus areas," said Michael Reddish, director of e-business at HVE. "What we found was that not only could we realize a very significant return in a short period of time, but the SupplyWorks MAX hosted application infrastructure will allow us to deploy the solution and integrate it into our existing ERP [enterprise resource planning] system extremely quickly, with limited disruption to our current business execution."

"We're excited to have HVE join our customer ranks," said Jeff Herrmann, president and CEO of SupplyWorks. "Throughout the evaluation process they have exhibited thorough system knowledge and deep awareness of the current realities of eCommerce. We know that together, we are in a position to deliver great value and high ROI [return on investment] to their operations."
