Commerce One Gets Strategic

New chief strategy officer reports to CEO Hoffman

Pleasanton, CA  August 14, 2001  e-Marketplace software provider Commerce One today announced the appointment of Alexsis de Raadt-St. James as senior vice president and chief strategy officer.

De Raadt-St. James will lead the development of Commerce One's long-term market and product strategy. She reports directly to Mark Hoffman, chairman and CEO, effective immediately.

"Her understanding and hands-on experience in building a global e-business brings yet another level of customer knowledge and depth to our management team. We believe that her rich background in both technology and market strategy will be key contributors to the long-term success of Commerce One."

Before joining Commerce One, de Raadt-St. James was a Sloan Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where she focused on key issues such as managing innovation and technology diffusion.

Previously, she spent 13 years with Shell International in a variety of management positions, most recently as head of eVentures in London. Before joining Shell, de Raadt-St. James worked for the investment bank Kidder Peabody in London and Boston.
