EDS to provide service support for automotive exchange

Detroit, MI  March 1, 2002  IT services provider EDS is set to provide global customer service support for automotive exchange Covisint's commercially available products and services under an agreement announced this week.


Under the agreement, terms of which were not disclosed, EDS will provide direct assistance to Covisint customers worldwide, including those engaged in online automotive parts auctions.


EDS support staff will provide answers to issues that pop up while customer use Covisint's suite of Web-delivered services.


"Calling on EDS is the right choice based on their global reach, proven processes and procedures and response under a tight time frame," said Dori Bennett, senior vice president for global deployment and customer service at Covisint.


EDS will provide support for all of Covisint's applications, including real-time support for live-auction participants. In the event a live-auction participant is unable to enter bids directly, EDS will also provide surrogate bidding services from its Southfield, Mich. and Mechelen, Belgium service centers.
