QUALCOMM Extends Collaboration

Increases use of Agile solution in bid to accelerate product introduction cycles

San Jose, CA April 16, 2002 QUALCOMM is set to expand its use of a product collaboration solution in an effort to accelerate its product introduction cycles in the competitive wireless telecom market.

San Diego-based QUALCOMM began using Agile Software's Product Collaboration application last year, and the results to date have prompted the company to bring additional users online with the solution, according to Norm Fjeldheim, senior vice president and chief information officer for QUALCOMM.

"To date, we've had very good and effective results with Agile solutions," said Fjeldheim. "We have benefited from collaboration within our divisions, allowing QUALCOMM to decrease product introduction cycles while minimizing product costs."

Through the solution, QUALCOMM manages a single system of record for its products, improving the company's visibility and control both internally and with its customers and suppliers with regard to highly dynamic product information.

A phased rollout beginning in the next few months will bring all remaining users across QUALCOMM business units live on Agile solutions.
