Scottsdale, AZ July 2, 2002 The Italian divisions of Nestle and Sara Lee have turned to space and category management solutions from retail applications specialist JDA Software Group to strengthen the performance of their respective supply chains.
Nestle Italy's food division and Sara Lee's Italian household and body care division will use the space and category management solutions in JDA's Portfolio applications line to enhance supply chain collaboration with their respective retail customers with the goal of increasing end-consumer satisfaction.
According to Caterina Carrassi, Sara Lee Italy's category development manager, the Italian division of the company is implementing JDA's Intactix space planning and efficient item assortment applications to strengthen their category management position for multiple products, including air fresheners, hand creams and baby care.
"We selected JDA because of its significant international presence and its reputation as a flexible solution that is adaptable to local needs," said Carrassi. "JDA's solution will assist us in defining our product priorities and shelf strategies, as well as to display the right product sequence in the shelf space according to internal strategies and our retail partner's objectives."
JDA has established a sizeable beachhead in Italy, working with Carrefour Italy, Gillette Italia, Perfetti, Colgate Palmolive and Kellogg in the country on supply chain projects.
