Cleveland July 9, 2002 Polymer services company PolyOne Corp. this week launched its new Web storefront, offering the company's North American customers online access to products from the company's plastic compounds and colors business, as well as its specialty vinyl resins business.
The new site, dubbed GetPolyOne, adds online access to the company's engineered materials and color and additive concentrates, along with the vinyl compounds and specialty vinyl resins previously available on a previous version of the site called GetGeon, according to David Honeycutt, PolyOne's global director of e-business.
The plastic compounds and colors materials added to the storefront include cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) compounds, engineered compounds and composites, polyolefin compounds, thermoplastic elastomer (TPE) compounds and thermoplastic colorants and additives.
Honeycutt noted that GetPolyOne is connected to PolyOne's SAP system in real-time, so orders can be accepted and processed at any time, and customers receive immediate order confirmation.
The Web site offers such standard online procurement features as personalized views of account information, real-time online product availability and order placement, as well as order status updates, order history tracking, accounts payable information, invoice status and online access to technical data sheets and PolyOne literature.
"GetPolyOne joins PolyOne Distribution's PolyoneDirect.com Web site, as well as several other plastics and chemical industry portals, as state-of-the-art online channels between PolyOne and our customers," said Honeycutt.
PolyOne Corporation, with 2001 revenues of $2.7 billion, is an international polymer services company with operations in a variety of compounds, specialty resins and other products.
