Irvine, CA October 29, 2002 Sequel Enterprise Solutions, a provider of supply chain optimization solutions for the electronics and high-tech industries, today rolled out its new collaborative manufacturing solution for the fabless semiconductor industry.
Sequel said its NetPipe Collaborative Manufacturing System allows fabless companies to leverage the Internet to manage products, business partners and outside organizations, opportunities, orders and inventory throughout their global supply chains.
"NetPipe helps optimize internal business processes such as sales, marketing and order management, as well as interactions with such outside organizations as customers, suppliers, distributors and contract manufacturers," said Jay Rao, Sequel's executive vice president of sales and marketing.
The NetPipe solution consists of a partner relationship and order management system, in addition to a supply chain visibility and alerts system. The former supports customer, distributor and supplier relationship management processes, including contact management, call reporting, requests for quotes (RFQs), quotes and order processing. The system also comes with a product catalog with semiconductor-specific parametric search and browse capability.
The visibility and alerts system provides user configurable and summarized performance information from NetPipe and other internal and external application databases, partner systems, the Internet and MS Outlook.
The system also allows for entity-specific navigation of critical information for viewing and editing. For example, the Customer Navigator allows for customer-specific contact, activity, forecast, RFQs, quotes, orders, shipments, inventory and sales analysis information to be made available from one Web page for internal users, as well as customers via a business portal or extranet.
