New CEO for PureEdge

Selects software industry veteran, former CEO to continue on as chief strategy officer

Victoria, BC  December 9, 2002  PureEdge Solutions Inc., which provides secure, XML-based e-forms to governments and regulated industries, today announced the appointment of Mark Upson as president and CEO.

According to the company, Upson has more than 20 years experience in global technology sales and management.

Previously he worked for Onyx Software, a customer relationship management (CRM) software provider, as its senior vice president and general manager, Americas. While at the provider, Upson led sales growth at the company from $2 million USD to over $119 million USD in a five-year period, which included an initial public offering and international expansion. Additionally restructured the North American and European operations to meet profitability goals.

Upson's experience also includes senior management positions at Wall Data, an infrastructure software firm, and 11 years' of technical and senior sales management with IBM Corp.

PureEdge said its co-founder and previous CEO, Eric Jordan, will continue to play a key role on the company's executive team as the chief strategy officer.
