St. Louis, MO December 19, 2002 Logistics Management Solutions (LMS), an information-based third-party logistics provider, has been selected by Novus International, Inc. to perform outbound domestic transportation, stocking point replenishment and inventory management services for the manufacturer's line of liquid and dry, packaged goods. Novus International is a St. Louis-based producer of animal feed supplements.
Rich Etling, manager of global logistics for Novus International, said "LMS' proprietary technology will allow us to achieve Web visibility of our shipping activities, produce customized reports and gain tighter control of our transportation costs and operations."
Using its Web-enabled transportation management system (TMS), TOTAL, LMS will plan and execute domestic shipping activities, which include finished product, equipment and empty container return programs, to provide Novus with online access to up-to-the-minute shipping information.
TOTAL is LMS' proprietary, Web-enabled TMS that allows customers to cut transportation costs in as little as 60 days without a large investment or system commitment. TOTAL integrates into companies' existing enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems and does not require customers to change the way they do business.
LMS is a third-party logistics firm specializing in transportation optimization. It consults or providers services for such companies as Emerson, Monsanto and BASF.
