Pasadena, CA — April 11, 2003 — Cost management solution provider Tradec has partnered with technology company PCNalert to offer a solution designed to let sourcing professionals know when electronic components are reaching their end of life or need to be replaced.
PCNalert offers solutions that deliver time-sensitive component information, including component end-of-life and product change notices. Tradec operates a marketplace of third-party content, Tradec Network Services (TNS), which is integrated to the provider's Cost Management Solution and delivers content in the context of the strategic sourcing process.
Under their new partnership, PCNalert will deliver time-critical component information via TNS. By delivering this information in context of the sourcing process, supply chain and procurement professionals will have an opportunity to address component-related risks before they become problems.
In addition, the marriage of PCNalert's component risk information with Tradec's Cost Management solution will place risk in context of cost and revenue impact, the two providers said.
"Best practices for obsolescence management demand cross-functional coordination and execution," said Cliff Frescura, vice president for solutions for PCNalert. "Tradec's Network Services enables procurement to have the same insight into end-of-life impacts as engineering and design."
Troy Augustine, vice president of marketing for Tradec, said, "PCNalert provides a critical piece to our strategic sourcing content network, which provides customers with visibility into end-of-life issues during the sourcing process to mitigate risk."
