Charlotte, NC — May 6, 2003 — Supply chain execution specialist V3 Systems this week rolled out the latest version of its flagship suite, adding capabilities designed to help the provider's value-added resellers (VARs) and channel partners target small to midsize businesses and third-party logistics providers (3PL).
The provider said its software offers the quick-and-easy configuration and modular functionality required to meet the warehouse management system (WMS) requirements of individual facilities linked in an enterprise distribution network. The solution is intended to provide real-time visibility, management and coordination of the logistics execution activities that are necessary to achieve "zero latency" in inventory throughput, according to V3.
In the latest release of the software, version 4.7, V3 said it has further expanded the ability of resellers to configure the application to accommodate their customers' changing or diverse business needs. This is done through a "customer control" feature that allows software users to structure the software to their business rules, allowing them to avoid high configuration costs or risky "one-of-a-kind" custom code, according to V3.
The software is Web-based and built around components that allow customers to configure the software to match their business processes, and it can be deployed either all at once or in phases, V3 said.
V3 also has appointed industry veteran John Nell as vice president of channel sales to manage the company's channel partner practice.
"The need for highly adaptable and capable supply chain execution solutions is no longer limited to the major global players," said Nell. "There has been increasing interest by both smaller distribution/manufacturing and mid-tier 3PLs to match the speed, precision and control traditionally associated with only large market leaders. With our VAR program, these companies can now have access to V3 Systems' solutions at a lower cost."
