Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Co. selects software to integrate systems, enhance productivity
Chicago September 23, 2003 Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Co. IFS announced today that it has signed a contract to implement business software from IFS at its plants in Simsbury, Conn., and Graham, Ky. The A&D company said it would be using IFS' applications for supply chain management, corporate performance management, engineering, project management, workforce management, quality management and document management.
Bruce Mortimer, manager of Business Administration for Ensign-Bickford Aerospace & Defense Co., said that after considering several enterprise software packages, his company chose IFS Applications because of its functionality and value. "We were also impressed with IFS' reputation for rapid implementations and their philosophy of partnering with customers to make their businesses more profitable," he explained.
Mortimer added that with the new software, Ensign-Bickford will be able to consolidate 41 separate systems into a single integrated system, as well as enhance productivity and profitability through more effective capacity planning, analysis of business information and fewer duplicate data entries.

With regard to the A&D company he said IFS' solution would help it to cut costs, deliver products on time and on budget, take advantage of new business opportunities, and comply with strict DoD regulations.
