PolyOne Taps Procuri

World's largest polymer services company is incorporating e-tool into strategic sourcing process

Atlanta  August 26, 2002  PolyOne Corp., the world's largest polymer services company, has tapped an e-sourcing solution from provider Procuri as its Web-based platform for sourcing, the solution provider reported today.

PolyOne has revenues of about $3 billion annually and more than 8,000 employees, at plants and joint ventures in North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australia.

Gary Como, director of souring at PolyOne, said the company selected Procuri's solution because it delivered the functionality PolyOne needed to support its strategic sourcing processes.

"Our sourcing professionals found Procuri's tools to be extremely easy to use, which is key to achieving high acceptance among the PolyOne team," Como said. "The advantages of high functionality and ease of use will help us share best sourcing practices throughout our organization."

Mark Morel, Sr., Procuri's president and CEO, said that the e-sourcing tool should help reinforce PolyOne's emphasis on integrating e-commerce with supply chain processes. "PolyOne is continuously looking for ways to capture greater value by the integration of its global businesses," Morel said.
