The Cooperative Purchasing Network Awards Contract to Elcom

The Cooperative Purchasing Network leverages one of the largest pools of purchasing potential and combines buying power

Boston, Mass.August 14, 2014Elcom International, a Braintree-based software firm whose application PECOS was one of the first global cloud-based e-procurement systems, announced that it was awarded an annual contract with The Cooperative Purchasing Network (TCPN), a national governmental purchasing cooperative that has contracts with national vendors for commonly purchased products and services, allowing entities to make compliant purchases at a valued rate. TCPN leverages one of the largest pools of purchasing potential and allows agencies to receive a combined buying power regardless of the entity’s size. Its members are now eligible to use Elcom software, without a request for tenders.

Elcom was awarded an annual contract with TCPN as a web-based procurement provider. TCPN is a fast-growing cooperative purchasing company.

TCPN leverages the purchasing power of more than 37,000 operating government entities by competitively awarding contracts for commonly purchased products and services. By awarding Elcom a web-based procurement provider contract, public agencies and charitable organizations with TCPN membership can access Elcom’s PECOS system. This advanced, multi-tenanted e-procurement solution can benefit TCPN’s members through lower transaction costs, fewer disputes, faster payment cycles, improved procurement controls and better visibility of spend.

Elcom’s PECOS solution is a cloud-based, multi-tenanted e-procurement system. By using PECOS, organizations are able to engage in centralized purchasing, managing contracts and integrating the process of purchasing/ordering goods, and approving and paying invoices, to ensure budgetary controls are met and appropriate audit trails are maintained. Elcom programs the software to work with existing finance and enterprise resource planning infrastructures, so there is little hassle. PECOS’ three-clicks-to-buy interface is efficient.

This year, Elcom launched a new website, highlighting the usability for school, healthcare and government organizations. Elcom’s e-procurement software provides these organizations the ability to purchase merchandise with ease of access to vendors and to make comparisons between products, while simultaneously providing clear guidance throughout the process, resulting in time and cost savings.
