CaroTrans Adds Direct New York to Marseilles Connection

LCL/FCL service features expedited transit and proximity to major markets.

Clark, N.J.—May 13, 2014—CaroTrans, a global NVOCC (non-vessel operating common carrier) and ocean freight consolidator, has expanded its LCL (less than container load) and FCL (full container load) services between the U.S. and France with a new direct, weekly New York to Marseilles service.

This development is in direct response to customer demand and features reduced delivery costs and transit times to nearby major markets, such as Lyon, Nice and Toulouse. Online track-and-trace visibility via the CaroTrans website is available to customers to effectively manage end-to-end shipment delivery.

This new CaroTrans Central and Southern France service strengthens the NVO’s comprehensive, U.S.-France service network which features service between five U.S. gateways and Le Havre. CaroTrans, which has been serving France for 30 years, established its dedicated Le Havre branch office and team in 2012 to support its European and overall global network.

Between the U.S. and Europe, CaroTrans offers a broad-range of 20 comprehensive direct services, including: London, Liverpool, Manchester, Felixstowe, Dublin, Oslo, Copenhagen, Gothenburg, Riga, St Petersburg, Prague, Rotterdam, Antwerp, Hamburg, Bremen, Barcelona, Valencia, Milan, Le Havre and now Marseilles.

“Addressing the transportation needs of our customers is our primary focus.  With this new New York-Marseilles service we are fulfilling this vow and will continue to search out direct service options that reduce freight handling and costs for our customers,” said Greg Howard, global CEO of CaroTrans.

In the U.S., CaroTrans’ local network of 14 branch offices and 24 CFS (container freight stations) are strategically placed to deliver dependable, secure cargo moves.  This infrastructure results in reduced inland transportation costs and freight handling, and immediate availability to local, professional CaroTrans personnel.
