New York—April 25, 2014—Infor, a provider of business application software serving more than 70,000 customers, announced a joint collaboration with Red Hat, Inc., a provider of open source solutions, and EnterpriseDB, a PostgreSQL database company, to make Infor LN ERP (enterprise resource planning) available on a total open technology stack. By leveraging Red Hat Enterprise Linux, JBoss Enterprise Middleware solutions and EnterpriseDB's Postgres Plus, Infor LN can provide customers with a flexible solution based on industry standards that performs well and is reliable with the flexibility to be moved between on-premise and cloud deployments. The deployment flexibility enables Infor LN to quickly adapt to changing business requirements while lowering the total cost of ownership (TCO).
"Infor applications on an open technology stack allows us to configure a delivery model with fewer licensing and distribution restrictions, and more easily move images between on premise and the cloud as customer needs dictate," said Charles Phillips, CEO of Infor. "By adding EnterpriseDB to our collaboration with Red Hat, we can now offer our customers the choice to standardize on open solutions without compromising performance or functionality. Given the rising adoption of Postgres in the enterprise, we're now better positioned to support organizational demands for economic and deployment flexibility."
Infor has been working with Red Hat since 2012 to enable customers to run applications on a flexible, open-source platform. The addition of EnterpriseDB's Postgres database to this open source platform enables Infor customers to lower the cost of deployment, while maintaining scalability, performance and reliability, and gain new levels of deployment flexibility. EnterpriseDB extends PostgreSQL, an enterprise-class open source database, with performance, compatibility, security and manageability enhancements needed for today's corporate workloads.
Infor LN is a comprehensive ERP application for large and mid-size manufacturers delivered on an advanced technology platform that was designed to give information technology (IT) the flexibility to choose the right operating system and database to meet their business needs at a lower cost.
