CEVA to Manage 15,000 Spare Parts for Terex

CEVA landed a three-year contract to help Terex improve order delivery by dispatching 95 percent of parts within 24 hours after order receipt

São Paulo, BrazilNov. 12, 2013CEVA Logistics, a supply chain management company, announced a three-year contract with Terex, a global manufacturer of lifting and material-handling equipment for use in industries including construction, infrastructure, quarrying, mining, shipping, transportation, energy, refining, utilities and manufacturing.

CEVA will manage the company’s integrated hub for parts distribution at a 1,430-square-meter area located in Barueri in the São Paulo region. Services will include the entire flow of receipt, checking, storage, orders picking, packaging and expedited shipping of approximately 15,000 spare parts necessary to support Terex distributors and customers.

In addition, CEVA will manage the distribution of Terex, Genie and Demag products throughout Brazil. Specifically for the management of the company’s transportation activities, CEVA developed interfaces between the system used by Terex with the CEVA Matrix Warehouse Management System (WMS) and Transportation Management System (TMS) to manage parts distribution.

“We are a customer-focused company and rapid order response is critical to customer satisfaction levels, which is why we made a substantial investment in the creation of the Terex Integrated Center of Parts Distribution (CIDP) with CEVA,” said Rodrigo Zandonadi Schmidt, manager of parts operations and sales for Terex Latin America. “We already have a strong relationship with CEVA in the Netherlands and we are pursuing the same success here.”

The primary goal for Terex is to improve agility in the order delivery process by dispatching 95 percent of parts within 24 hours after receipt of the order.
