Weber Logistics and Aspen Logistics Form Alliance

Santa Fe Springs, Calif.Feb. 12, 2013—Third party logistics (3PL) service providers Weber Logistics and Aspen Logistics formed an alliance to combine the companies’ warehouse and direct delivery networks to provide customers with a single-source product distribution solution, from the Rockies to the Pacific Coast. As part of the alliance agreement, Connie Anderson, Owner, Aspen Logistics, will lead as Senior Vice President of Client Solutions at Weber to oversee sales, marketing and customer service.  

“Shippers themselves are recognizing the operational synergies from sharing a distribution infrastructure,” said Harry Drajpuch, Chief Executive Officer, Weber Logistics. “We’re applying that same strategy to our third party logistics services. The alliance brings customers the combined expertise and distribution coverage of each company, with no new investment. Because Weber and Aspen have partnered in the past, much of the required systems and process integration is already in place to serve customers seamlessly.”

By combining Weber’s West Coast distribution network with Aspen’s strong presence in the inter-mountain region, the companies now offer 6.5 million square feet of space across 1920 west region distribution centers. Additionally available is a direct delivery fleet with freight transfer facilities in Southern and Northern California; Arizona; Nevada; Washington; Oregon; Utah; and Colorado.  

“The alliance brings together two companies with similar cultures, strong service reputations and similar vertical market expertise—including temperature-controlled warehousing and delivery for food and confectionery products,” concluded Anderson.
