Damco Names New Global Head of Industrial

Logistics pro Steve Hoffman to develop global strategy for industrial sector customers

Copenhagen, Denmark—Aug. 28, 2012—Damco has appointed Steve Hoffman as global head for the industrial vertical.  Hoffman will be responsible for developing the global strategy for Damco’s customers within the areas of industrial manufacturing.

Part of Damco’s growth strategy is to offer customers within the retail, lifestyle, perishables, technology, chemical and industrials industry segments the products they need to move their goods from one end of the world to the other without hassle, at low cost and with full visibility.

Hoffman has more than 30 years of industry experience in operations, business development and account management.  Prior to joining Damco, he was with Kuehne + Nagel in a similar role of leading the industrial vertical in North America. Prior to that he worked for Panalpina as the global leader of the automotive vertical. He is based out of Itasca, Ill., near Chicago, and reports to Global Head of Strategic Sales Steve Sienkiewicz.

Hoffman joins Damco at a time of steady progress and high expectations, especially in growth markets. Having just realized 42 percent growth on EBIT in H1 of 2012, compared to the same period in 2011, Damco is delivering on its ambitious growth path, to become a top player in the global logistics industry.
