Novation Awards Bracco, Lantheus and GE with New Contrast Media Agreements

New agreement offers members savings up to 29 percent

Irving, Texas—June 20, 2012—Novation, the healthcare supply contracting company for the members of VHA Inc., UHC and Provista LLC, awarded agreements to suppliers Bracco, Lantheus and GE for contrast media. 

The contrast media product category includes X-ray/computerized tomography; magnetic resonance; ultrasound; oral barium; and oral iodated. The GE awards will be purchased under the NOVAPLUSlabel. NOVAPLUS is Novation’s private label brand of pharmacy and medical-surgical products that offers additional savings to members for high-quality products.

The X-ray/computerized tomography agreement is awarded to NOVAPLUS/GE. The magnetic resonance agreements are awarded to Bracco and NOVAPLUS/GE. The ultrasound agreements are awarded to Lantheus and NOVAPLUS/GE. The oral barium agreement is awarded to Bracco. The oral iodated agreement is awarded to NOVAPLUS/GE.  The new agreements, awarded through Novation’s competitive contracting process, offer savings of up to 29% for member hospitals.

These agreements are effective July 1, 2012.
