Dan Twomey Joins SkyBitz as Vice President Government Logistics Group

New appointment strengthens SkyBitz’s commitment to government sector

STERLING, Va. –November 30, 2011 -- SkyBitz®, announces a new appointment intended to further the company’s position in the Government Sector. Dan Twomey joins SkyBitz as its new Vice President of the Government Logistics Group, where he will be responsible for business development, partner relationships and customer mission success.  Working closely with the other key functional groups such as Sales, Marketing, Finance and Product Line Management, Mr. Twomey’s position will ensure the effective and efficient deployment of global satellite products and services across the Government marketplace—Defense, Homeland Security and Federal Civilian Agencies as well as State and Local Government.

Prior to joining SkyBitz, Mr. Twomey was Portfolio Executive, Unisys Federal Systems, where his responsibilities included business development and partner relationships for key Unisys solutions across the Department of Defense.  Previous roles included work at GigaTrust, a security software startup; Robbins-Gioia, a program management firm, where his last position was as Operations VP for Defense; and Altarum, a non-profit active in program management and analysis for the Federal government.

Prior to joining the private sector, he served for five years on the Staff of the Senate Budget Committee, and prior to that served as a commissioned officer in the USAF, where he worked at the Pentagon both for the Air Force and for OSD. Mr. Twomey has a BS in Mathematics from the USAF Academy, and a M.  Phil. in Economics from Oxford University, England.
