Dr. John J. Coyle Joins National Logistics & Distribution Conference (NLDC) Board of Advisors

NLDC is an Educational Event for Senior Level Supply Chain Executives


ATLANTA- (September 13, 2011) – The National Logistics & Distribution Conference (NLDC) announces the appointment of Dr. John J. Coyle to the NLDC Board of Advisors.  Dr. Coyle is director of corporate relations for the Center for Supply Chain Research and professor emeritus of Business Administration at Penn State University.  He was the first person to teach a course at Penn State under the label “business logistics,” and played an active role in developing the university’s logistics and transportation program. Dr. Coyle is replacing C. John Langley, Jr., Ph.D. on NLDC’s Board of Advisors. Dr. Langley, professor of supply chain management at Penn State University, fulfilled his term on the board in spring of 2011.

 

 “We thank John Langley for his friendship and contributions as an NLDC speaker and member of our Board of Advisors.  John Langley and John Coyle represent true thought leadership in supply chain, and the type of professionals that perpetuate the strides we’ve made in making NLDC the conference of choice for qualified senior-level supply chain executives,” said Ron Dahlin, NLDC’s executive director.

 

 The NLDC Board of Advisors assist in developing the annual conference’s theme, tracks and session topics relevant to current supply chain challenges, trends and innovations; and with reviewing and selecting speakers.  Additional members of the NLDC Board of Advisors include Brent R. Beabout, vice president of global network strategy / transportation for Office Depot in Boca Raton, Florida; Rick D. Blasgen, vice president and CEO for the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals in Lombard, Illinois; and Gough Grubbs, senior vice president of logistics /distribution for Stage Stores in Houston, Texas.

 

 The 2012 National Logistics & Distribution Conference is scheduled for March 19-21 at the Georgia Tech Hotel & Conference Center and Georgia Tech Global Learning Center in Atlanta, Georgia. NLDC 2012 is hosted by Georgia Tech’s Supply Chain & Logistics Institute, recognized as a leader of supply chain and logistics education.  The conference is produced by Peach State Integrated Technologies known for providing comprehensive global consulting, engineering, and material handling systems integration services to a broad spectrum of supply chain leaders. NLDC is an “invitation only” conference for 100 senior-level executives where peers present and discuss innovations for supply chain and logistics challenges.  There are no presentations by consultants, service providers or suppliers.
