LogicalApps software to monitor, enforce internal controls within Oracle ERP to automate SOX compliance

Irvine, CA — January 10, 2006 — Finisar Corp., a technology leader for fiber optic subsystems and network test and monitoring systems, has selected LogicalApps to create a sustainable compliance environment for meeting regulations brought on by the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX).

Finisar said it evaluated automated controls software for its Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) application in order to reduce the time and resources involved in validating year-end performance results for SOX compliance.

After an evaluation of numerous vendors, Finisar selected LogicalApps due to its Oracle expertise, pre-packaged content for segregation of duties (SOD) and approach to enforcing application controls in real-time.

"It was important to us to find a SOX solution that would enforce our business policies within the application environment, not just monitor activities," said Agnel Kagoo, manager of application systems for Finisar. "Other products we evaluated only provide after-the-fact reporting or require additional hardware because they sit outside of Oracle. The LogicalApps software is tightly integrated with the ERP system so it can actually prevent segregation-of-duties conflicts and reduce our costs of compliance."

Finisar is currently deploying the LogicalApps solution and plans to use the software in a production environment to support its 2006 fiscal year audit activities in April. Finisar is focused initially on segregation of duties, and intends to implement additional automation features to control changes to application data and configuration setups.

"We're very excited to have been selected by Finisar for their first phase of controls automation around segregation of duties, which is an area where LogicalApps has invested heavily in developing best-practices content," said Chris Capdevila, CEO of LogicalApps. "Our software and services are designed to deliver a compliance environment that offers more granular control to reduce risk and lower remediation costs for our customers."
