New functionality gives businesses better collaboration, adds version control for documents and files

Chicago February 7, 2006 SpringCM, an on-demand content management company, today unveiled the latest version of its Web-based, integrated content management product, which it said delivers greater collaboration capabilities and content routing for files and documents.

"Content such as Microsoft Word and Excel documents, images and multi-media clips can now flow more efficiently within and outside an organization," stated Noel Kuriakos, product manager for SpringCM. "Employees no longer have to rely on e-mail to send and receive edits and feedback. E-Mail is notoriously insecure, and most people don't realize that attachments consume 90 percent more space than necessary."

Kuriakos said the new functionalities of SpringCM 3.0 include collaboration capabilities, like a check-out function so colleagues can collaborate and share edits on a document or a group of documents, keeping everyone apprised of the most current versions. It also includes dynamic content routing, which is an option to automatically notify the next person who should make edits to the working version. Finally, it offers multi-account memberships, so users need only sign-in once on the SpringCM Web site to access multiple accounts or create a new account.

"SpringCM allows us to collaborate with our clients without the inefficiencies of e-mail tag and storage bloat," said Don Hill, president and CEO of The Data Mediators. "With SpringCM, we have a full-featured content management service with powerful search and retrieval capabilities. We believe SpringCM will not only help us reduce costs and hassles associated with the many documents in our business, but will speed up our business operations and improve time to revenue."
