Firms' products and services to facilitate lean transformation in manufacturing sector

Tampa, FL — March 8, 2006 — USC Consulting Group (USCCG), a long-time lean proponent and independent management consulting firm specializing in business performance improvement, said it will use the Orlando Software Group Inc.'s (OSGi) LeanView software solution to help its manufacturing clients implement lean solutions to improve their operational and financial performance.

USCCG said LeanView provides a tool set that supports the systematic collection, design, analysis, reporting and dissemination of both product and service value stream mapping data in multiple industry settings. Organization can use LeanView to improve and integrate lean and Six Sigma processes and programs, communicate information clearly and collaborate more effectively, and measure the overall effectiveness of their lean programs.

The software is built on Microsoft's Visio, Excel and Project products. USCCG said it selected LeanView because its functionality aligns with and supports the lean practices the firm has employed in over 1,200 engagements, while providing a framework for enterprise-wide lean deployment and continuous improvement.

OSGi specializes in the design, development, implementation and support of advanced business process modeling, analysis and simulation solutions for businesses of all types and sizes, said Frank Kapper, vice president of business development/sales and marketing. But our true expertise lies in creating solutions that can be seamlessly integrated into existing portfolios of IT solutions of clients like USCCG and rapidly deployed into their workforce.

According to Jim Ostrosky, USCCG's senior vice president for product development and technology, the two companies got together when OSGi asked USCCG to develop a lean curriculum to help instruct users of LeanView using its proprietary e-learning platform M-Abler.

Said Ostrosky, It became very apparent in our initial discussions that OSGi and its LeanView solution would be a natural complement to our own operational expertise and the technology we deploy on behalf of our clients almost every day. This collaboration represents a win-win' situation for both companies' clients.
