Taiwanese electronic equipment manufacturer also cuts direct materials costs with product collaboration solution from Agile

San Jose, CA — March 17, 2006 — Electronic equipment manufacturer Foxlink has implemented the latest version of Agile Software's flagship product lifecycle management (PLM) solution as part of an effort to reduce time to market and direct material costs, the software company announced this week.

With over 27,000 worldwide employees, Taiwan-based Foxlink designs and manufactures connectors, cable assemblies, power management devices and battery packs for some of the world's leading makers of communications devices, computers and consumer electronics.

A customer of Agile since 2003, Foxlink has upgraded to Agile 9.2 to take advantage of the solution's updated analysis and reporting, as well as the solution's change collaboration and document management capabilities. Foxlink has been running Agile 9.2 in production since January 2006.

According to Agile, Foxlink relies on the PLM solution to manage its complex product portfolio across its 15 design, manufacturing and sales sites worldwide. In addition to its expertise in electronics components, Foxlink and its subsidiaries have successfully developed diversified products in the area of wireless communications and optical technology.

Critical to Foxlink's success in the global electronics market is its ability to work closely with its customers to rapidly develop innovative products and bring them to market to meet diverse consumer needs. Through its use of Agile PLM, Foxlink has been able to optimize its collaboration and communication across the entire supply chain — from design to new product introduction to ramp to volume and end of life. The results have included a 30 percent decrease in time to market, a 15 percent reduction in product-related costs and increased customer satisfaction and loyalty.

"One of our greatest differentiators is our commitment to quality achieved through industry leading high precision machining and microelectronics assembling," said Francis Chen, chief information officer at Foxlink. "Agile PLM has helped us to maximize the benefits of our investment in the highest quality manufacturing capabilities by providing a single system of record that effectively manages our diverse product lines across our global teams and extended supply chains. The added performance and functionalities in Agile 9.2 will ensure that we continue increasing revenues, while reducing costs, using Agile as a single platform to integrate all of our legacy systems."
