Networking manufacturer taps Arena solution in initiative to manage product data, simplify collaboration with suppliers
Menlo Park, CA — March 21, 2006 — Technology company Foundry Networks has standardized on a Web-based product lifecycle management (PLM) application from Arena solutions for all of its product data as part of an initiative to simplify collaboration among its outsourced contract manufacturers and global suppliers.

The company is using the Arena PLM solution to manage product data for all its products. Arena said that its PLM solution simplifies collaboration by enabling Foundry's entire global supply chain to work concurrently from a single, centralized product record that is easily accessed over the Internet.
Faster to Market
With real-time, 24x7 access to complete and accurate product records, costly errors and lost time due to manual re-entry is eliminated, allowing Foundry to bring higher quality products to market faster, while lowering the company's product development costs, Arena said.
Foundry also has integrated its Arena PLM solution with the company's Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, further streamlining its product development process and increasing time to market, Arena said. The integration with the ERP system helps ensure data consistency between the planning system and the PLM solution, eliminating costly and time-consuming manual data re-entry processes and ensuring that material components are ordered based on the most current information, according to Arena.
