Chicago — July 28, 2006 — Demand planning specialist John Galt Solutions has released a new version of its Atlas Planning Suite Sales & Operation Planning Module, adding a new user interface and filtering capabilities, along with easier navigation and configuration, among other updated features, the solution provider has announced.

Also known as the Atlas Planning Collaborator, the new 3.0 version of the S&OP Module incorporates new features and functionality intended to improve collaborative forecasting and demand planning across the supply chain, and to improve sales forecasting and promotional processes, profit margin preservation and overall business performance.

Specific updates to the solution include a new user interface with advanced filtering and exceptions; faster navigation with easy-to-understand graphs and spreadsheets; and easier system configuration, including user and data set-up, according to John Galt.

The new version also offers the capability to export data to Microsoft Excel, as well as integrated security into Microsoft Active Directory for streamlined access and security management.

Elsewhere, promotional planning capabilities include street dates and shipping offsets, and the latest version provides for dynamic aggregation and desegregation of data, as well as disconnected access with Web services connectivity for users working offline at home or while traveling.

"Balancing supply and demand through effective sales and operations planning has become a priority for companies seeking to preserve profit margins while satisfying customer demand," said Kai Trepte, John Galt Solutions' vice president of sales and services. "The Atlas Planning S&OP Module allows users to build an enterprise-wide, consensus-based planning process that fosters real-time collaboration among internal marketing, sales, operations and financial budgeting groups, as well as external supply chain partners and key customers."

John Galt's Atlas Planning Suite is comprised of a suite of business process applications designed to centralize and standardize key data from all of a company's data systems to make real-time business information available in an intelligent reporting format.
