St. Louis — January 5, 2005 — Software company Demand Management today released a new addition to its line of forecasting and demand planning applications, adding a Web-based solution for facilitating promotion planning and enabling collaborative planning, forecasting and replenishment (CPFR).

Demand Management, a wholly owned subsidiary of Logility, said that the new Demand Solutions Collaborate solution, part of its DS One suite, will promote the seamless integration of supply chain information and help companies create reliable and scalable demand-driven supply networks.

"The capabilities of DS Collaborate make DS One a best-of-breed choice for forecasting and demand planning," said Mike Campbell, president of Demand Management. "A company seeking to contain the cost of technology initiatives while increasing the effectiveness of its supply chain will find that DS Collaborate delivers tremendous business value."

The provider said that DS Collaborate would help participants in an extended enterprise analyze, interpret, plan and manage value chain events for maximum customer and supplier visibility. Using DS Collaborate in conjunction with other elements of DS One, companies can manage shorter decision cycles efficiently by communicating effectively with all of their trading partners, Demand Management said.

Using a secure Internet connection, DS Collaborate provides communications capabilities across planning, manufacturing, sales and distribution. The solution was designed to enable users to view and adjust collaborative information in the context of their role and share a synchronized event calendar, providing visibility into each trading partner's business.

DS Collaborate requires only a Web browser to communicate with other supply chain partners, which Demand Management said would remove barriers to entry for smaller trading partners. In addition, monitoring of key performance indicator (KPI) information is streamlined and automated, which can help companies make profitable decisions based on time-sensitive information in collaboration with their trading partners, the provider said.

"DS Collaborate expands the tangible benefits of our True Collaboration framework, making it easy to synchronize planning and leverage complex multiple promotions to differentiate products in highly competitive markets," Campbell said.
