Internally, externally focused apps give payees access to data without contacting paying company, seen cutting resolution costs
Long Beach, CA January 24, 2005 The eBusiness Division of ACOM Solutions has introduced two Web-based archive modules for the company's EZPayManager for Windows payment management solution designed to streamline delivery of payment information to payees.
One of the new archive modules is designed for use internally to respond to queries, while the other is intended for use by payees to access the information independently without contacting the payer company, according to Sam Mikhail, vice president of sales for the eBusiness Division.
"Fielding queries on payment status is a serious and constant drain on productivity in accounts payable departments," Mikhail said, "and a corresponding situation exists in accounts receivable departments. Both payers and payees would like to eliminate the multiple telephone calls and emails that are often required to resolve payment issues such as whether or when a check has been sent. These modules provide two ways to do so."
Designed for use by disbursing departments, the Web-Enabled Archive Option maintains records of all payments processed through the system. In the event of a query, a payables or customer service staffer can search the EZPM Archive database, generate a PDF copy of the original check for viewing on-screen and email it or fax it directly to the payee. The option can be accessed using the EZPayManager Web Client through any browser, ACOM said.
The second option, designated the Self-Service Module, stores the same payment data but allows direct access by registered payees. Payees such as vendors and employees that need to determine the status of payments can log onto the Web using any browser, sign into the Self-Service Module and view in PDF format a copy of any past payments that have been issued to them. If a paper copy is required, it can be printed directly from the module.
The Web-based archive modules are priced at $2,495.
