Civilian agency to deploy offering for real-time view of IT systems
McLean, VA — February 1, 2005 — Business service management (BSM) firm Managed Objects said today that the National Institutes of Health (NIH), department of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has selected Managed Objects' BSM solution to provide executive dashboard and enterprise systems management capabilities.
Managed Objects' BSM solution will be implemented to generate answers for NIH executive leadership on the state of the organization's thousands of applications it operates for the public's benefit.
The NIH selected Managed Objects' software following an extensive, three-month evaluation. The software was found to be capable of quickly and clearly communicating information to NIH decision-makers during crisis scenarios like Hurricane Isabel, which knocked out much of the power along the East Coast earlier last year.
NIH's team chose Managed Objects' BSM Solution based on its performance during a series of benchmarking exercises tailored specifically to their requirements, which included the ability to use its existing infrastructure by integrating with a multitude of existing tools and to visually communicate real-time information through the business service dashboard.
With a stated roadmap of accelerating medical discovery to improve health, NIH is one of the largest health research organizations in the world with 18,000 employees and a FY 2003 funded budget of nearly $28 billion.
