Swiss retailer looks to drive use of GNX applications into new categories in quest for additional savings

San Francisco — February 14, 2005 — Swiss retailer Manor Group has extended its relationship with GlobalNetXchange (GNX) and will continue to use the solution provider's sourcing application to conduct online auctions and requests for quote, as well as drive the use of the solution into new categories in the quest for additional savings.

A leading department store retailer in Switzerland, Manor Group, began using GNX's Sourcing solution in 2001. Working with GNX over the past four years, Manor has conducted more than 160 auctions in apparel and hard goods areas.

GNX said that the $2.6 billion Manor Group, having consistently measured positive results and sustainable efficiency improvements from using the solution, will now extend the program to additional categories across all its businesses. Using the RFQ, Auction and Project Management modules of the new GNX Sourcing solution, Manor will be looking to drive even greater improvements in buyer efficiency and cost of goods sold, GNX said.

"Manor is committed to continuously improving its operations to create real value for our customers and shareholders," said Maurice Calanca, Manor's marketing director. Calanca said that GNX's technology and services has allowed Manor to embed e-sourcing into the company's procurement process to achieve significant cost savings.

"Leveraging their new strategic sourcing toolkit, we will further streamline sourcing activities across the Manor Group business units and drive even greater bottom line benefits," Calanca added.

Joe Laughlin, CEO of GNX, said that the solution provider would move beyond simple auctions in its work with Manor Group. "GNX will provide support in identifying and qualifying sources of supply, building better product specifications, maintaining supplier qualifications and negotiating with strategic sources of supply," he said.

Besides Manor Group, GNX's customer base includes such retailers as Federated Department Stores, Carrefour, Kroger and Ace Hardware, among others.
