Lighting product manufacturer selects Glovia app to improve management of its multiple facilities and company-wide operations

El Segundo, CA — March 23, 2005 — Lightolier, a division of Genlyte Group Inc. and a manufacturer of architectural specification grade lighting products, has selected Glovia International's extended enterprise resource planning (ERP) solution, glovia.com, to replace it's legacy systems and improve management of its multiple facilities and company-wide operations.

Lightolier said it plans to use a two-phase approach to implement glovia.com at all 14 of the company's manufacturing and distribution facilities in North America. The first phase will be to implement glovia.com at the company's seven manufacturing facilities before rolling out the solution to the seven distribution facilities.

Lightolier began the implementation process this month and plans to have its first facility live by the end of the year. The move to glovia.com will standardize the company onto a single enterprise solution enabling greater visibility into their company-wide operations.

"One of the major advantages we will realize, once we are up and running, is to have real-time visibility from the customer order side of the constraints, issues and status of a particular order in the manufacturing cycle," stated Bob Reid, vice president/corporate controller for Lightolier. "We will be able to instantly see what is happening in our manufacturing operations, enabling us to schedule appropriately and then simply manage the exception instead of the current process of managing every order."

The low total cost of ownership was another factor in selecting Glovia, according to Lightolier. By consolidating their multiple legacy systems into one ERP solution, Lightolier is able to reduce its costs by not having to support multiple systems.

Gary Marn, director of Information Technology for Lightolier, stated, "We started our search by focusing on companies whose core expertise is manufacturing. Glovia was able to provide reference-able customers and successful implementations, illustrating their focus and achievement in our target market. We also focused on system architecture, moving away from a proprietary solution to an open-system architecture. Glovia enables us to do this, which will help streamline business processes while reducing development and integration costs."
