Department store group taps provider for value-added network services, data synchronization
Atlanta — March 23, 2005 — Federated Department Stores has tapped Inovis as its preferred electronic data interchange (EDI) provider and will migrate to Inovis' value-added network (VAN), in addition to continuing to align product data for synchronization using Inovis Catalogue.
Federated, with corporate offices in Cincinnati and New York, is one of the nation's top department store retailers, with fiscal 2004 sales of more than $15.6 billion. Federated operates more than 450 stores in 34 states, Guam and Puerto Rico.
For almost 10 years, Federated used QRS Corporation for VAN services to manage the flow of critical e-commerce information with its trading community of more than 4,000 vendors. Now Federated will migrate to Inovis' VAN, which the solution provider says offers an engine for end-to-end control and visibility of business-to-business (B2B) transactions and trading partner relationships.
In addition, the Inovis said its new VAN offers a customer portal called inovisworks.net that serves as the single interface for all Inovis interactions and offers around-the-clock customer support.
Federated also will continue to align and synchronize product data across its trading community using Inovis Catalogue, which offers the retail industry a centralized repository of product information containing more than 100 million unique items.
