Manufacturer of rugged wireless computers extends run of record year-over-year quarters to nine
Atlanta — March 23, 2005 — LXE, a manufacturer of rugged wireless computers, said this week that it set another record for fourth quarter and full year 2004 revenues. The fourth quarter mark extends LXE's run of record year-over-year quarters to nine, and 2004 represents a fourth consecutive full-year revenue record, the solution provider said.
In 2004 LXE introduced several rugged mobile computers, including the Windows CE .NET-based VX6 and VX7 vehicle-mounted computers and the radio frequency identification (RFID)-enabled MX3-RFID handheld computer.
"Market acceptance of these new units has exceeded our expectations," says Bill Roeder, LXE's senior vice president and deputy general manager. "And we are seeing significant interest from our existing tier-one customers around the concept we introduced in 2004, the mobile, vehicle-mounted RFID reader."
LXE also earned a third-consecutive Mobile Star Award for the industry's best customer service.
The solution provider said that sales of its products internationally continued to grow significantly, with particularly strong performance in the Pacific Rim, the Middle East and Latin America.
"Four straight years of record growth, from a company that's been around for decades, confirms we are headed in the right direction," Jim Childress, LXE president and general manager.
