As operations expand globally, technology company looks to improve control with Timogen solution
Mountain View, CA — June 6, 2005 — Technology developer Synaptics is set to use a supply chain resolution management solution from Timogen Systems to form part of its worldwide logistics operation, the solution provider announced recently.
Headquartered in San Jose, Calif., Synaptics is a developer of interface solutions for the mobile computing, communications and entertainment industries. The company creates interface solutions for a variety of devices including notebook PCs, PC peripherals, digital music players and mobile phones.
According to John Barrott, managing director of UK Operations for Synaptics, the company views its ability to monitor its supply chain as key to managing its operations, and for that reason the Synaptics has opted to deploy the Timogen Decision Manager (TDM) solution. "Maintaining visibility becomes more complex as our supply chain expands globally and we expect the Timogen Decision Manager to enhance our visibility," Barrott said.
Timogen said that TDM enables companies to respond to unplanned events that cause supply/demand mismatches. "TDM enables visibility and collaboration both within the organization and across contract manufacturers and strategic suppliers," the solution provider said. "It also enhances productivity by minimizing manual data entry and the time spent manually hunting for stock."
