Touts compact design, flexibility of new printers for radio frequency identification applications
Atlanta — July 1, 2005 — Toshiba TEC America has rolled out its new B-SA4 range of radio frequency identification (RFID)-ready thermal printers, touting their compact design and suitability for a variety of applications.
"The B-SA4 offers high-quality output, industrial performance, versatile design, an entire Central Network Management Suite and RFID-ready capability," Toshiba said in announcing the new line. "The ergonomic design and ease of maintenance will provide a lower cost of ownership over the life of the printer."
The Toshiba B-SA4 is available with either metal or plastic case enclosure and supports a print resolution of 203 or 300 dots per inch (dpi). A 600 dpi model is planned for early 2006.
Standard interfaces include high-speed USB, LAN (10/100 Base) and bi-directional parallel. Optional accessories include cutter, value peel, serial keyboard interface, wireless LAN interface and RFID module upgrade kit. The B-SA4 provides a conduit to functionality and performance with backward-compatible technology, Toshiba said.
"The Toshiba B-SA4 will soon gain the reputation as the 'total printer solution', providing the user with both compact design and robust performance", said William Hosken, president of Toshiba TEC America.
Toshiba TEC America, founded in 1969, provides business solutions and products in the cash register, point-of-sale, hospitality, scale and thermal printer markets.
